Description
Antique English Sterling Gravy Sauce Boat 1700s Winged Lion Crest Griffin 7 ½” long, 3 ¾” wide, 3 ½” tall to the highest point of the spout, 4 5/8” tall to the top of the handle. Weighs 9 troy ounces. The marks are a bit rubbed. The date letter looks like a lowercase I, as in 1744. The London leopard is crowned. There’s no George head mark. The maker’s mark might be a loopy TH, possibly Thomas Heming? It’s in good condition for its age. One cloven foot is turned in a bit, but it sits with no wobble on the table. The handle is not perfectly up and down, see the photos. A couple small dents in the bottom, nothing major. For its age, it’s pretty good, and perfectly serviceable.
