Description
A rare form, a miniature version of the classic Yoruba divination vessel. It is made from carved wood, and measures approximately 6 1/2" tall by 5 3/8" in diameter. The tray is raised above the base on a carved plinth of a mother holding a breast-feeding child. The base is painted with a green-blue color, the woman's dress a very dark green, un-common features of these pieces, full-sized or miniature. It is in very good condition. There is a check to the back of the base, and no other condition issues other than minor signs of age and use.
